SPJ-Arab Journalists
The "SPJ-Arab Journalists" Section is a Partnership Project between the Society of Professional Journalists and the National Arab American Journalists Association.
Although membership in NAAJA is free, you MUST join SPJ to participate and enjoy all of the resources offered by SPJ membership including the SPJ-Arab American Journalists Section.
Here are some of the resources available through SPJ and NAAJA we hope you will use:
Al-Sahafiyeen:
SPJ-Arab Journalists Blog This is the official SPJ-Arab Journalists blog where steering committee members can post news and events happening in Arab American and even Arab World journalism, and where all SPJ members can post comments, ask questions and more.
SPJ Job Bank:
www.spj.org/jobbank.asp I hope our new Arab group will post job leads here aggressively and also check out this database early and often. The idea is to make more people aware of brilliant Arab journalists out there ready for hire -- and also opportunities where people could work for the Arab ethnic media.
The Freelancer Database:
www.spj.org/freelance.asp All SPJ members who are freelancing should register! This is a great place to make your availability as a freelancer known to the mainstream and Arab American ethnic media.
JournalismTraining.org:
www.journalismtraining.org. Operated by SPJ on behalf of a larger coalition of journalism organizations, journalists can find professional development training searching by ZIP code. SPJ-Arab Journalists will use this to help promote our events, workshops and panels.
